About Us
Our Story
Sherri and Scott met at a birthday party in 2018 and have been inseparable ever since. They were married in a private ceremony on a mountain in Gateway, Colorado, in 2021.
They have taken on many projects together over the last seven years, including remodeling an old farmhouse, remodeling the main house on The River Place to become an amazing short-term rental, creating a very successful guest suite Airbnb, and then eventually a complete renovation of Scott’s former home in Knoxville, Tennessee.
From Inspiration to Reality
Sherri and Scott’s journey to design and build River Place Treehouses began after a stay in a treehouse in western North Carolina in December 2019. It was creative and fun but an experience, but we felt like we could do better. Most notably, that treehouse had an outdoor composting toilet and shower. We designed and crafted our treehouses to provide our guests with a modern, luxurious, cozy stay that keeps some of the fun aspects of childhood treehouses and combines them with engaging movie couple themes.
The five treehouses and main house are all located on a 57-acre farm alongside the West Fork Prong of the Little Pigeon River in downtown Sevierville Tennessee. The farm is used for hay production, and we have taken steps to keep the farm feel and provide our guests with the space and privacy that we appreciate. There is also a wedding/event venue on the property called The River Place.
